Welcome to the GLOREAM Workshop!

The aim of the GLOREAM (GLObal and REgional Atmospheric Modelling) project (a subproject to EUROTRAC-2) was to investigate the processes and phenomena which determine the chemical composition of the troposphere by means of advanced and integrated modelling, both on regional (over Europe) and global scale. An essential part of GLOREAM has been the development of state-of-the-art models and the determination of the model capabilities and model performance.

The interaction between the different modelling groups and modellers in Europe to discuss problems, to exchange information and to share knowledge formed the heart of GLOREAM.

Now many years after the end of EUROTRAC-2 this is exactly the aim of the GLOREAM workshops: to present and discuss results concerning recent developments in tropospheric chemical transport modelling and share the knowledge amongst each other.

The next GLOREAM-EURASAP workshop will be held at the University of Aveiro, in Portugal, from November 6th to 7th, and will focus on the following topics:

  • On-line modelling and aerosol-climate feedbacks
  • Air quality forecasting
  • Data assimilation in air quality models
  • Source apportionment in air quality modelling studies
  • Decision support systems for air quality planning

The scientific committee is formed by Renske Timmermans (TNO), Jørgen Brandt (AU-ENVS), José María Baldasano (BSC-CNS) and Carlos Borrego (UA).
